Community involvement is an important part of who we are as individuals, and who we are as a company. Omya employees give back in a variety of ways by: volunteering to pick up roadside trash; providing children’s activities at community events; coordinating blood drives and food drives; involvement with schools; participating on local boards; and coaching youth sports.

Scholarships

Each spring, Omya in Vermont makes available $10,000 in academic scholarships to graduating seniors in Rutland and Addison counties. The program awards four $2,500 scholarships to graduating area high school students who plan to pursue a post-secondary degree in a field of science or engineering. To qualify, applicants must be accepted in an accredited college or university. Students chosen for these awards possess a high level of academic ability and are well-rounded, exceptional individuals.

The Omya Scholarship Program was started in 2005 with the idea of bringing talented youth back to the area to work and is designed to offer incentives for the development of Vermont’s future workforce. Several of the recipients have taken advantage of summer internships at Omya to gain career experience.
