Omya uses a small fraction – approximately 10% – of its land holdings to support our quarry and mineral processing operations.  The remaining acreage contributes to the scenic landscape while supporting Vermont’s heritage, tourism, rural economy, and recreational lifestyles.

06.30.06 Spring 2006 Monitoring Report (2.4MB)

Spring 2006 semi-annual groundwater and surface water testing Report

This report presents the results of the Spring 2006 semi-annual groundwater and surface water testing that was conducted in accordance with the Monitoring Plan (August 15, 2005, revised February 24, 2006) that was approved by the Vermont Department of Environmental Conservation on April 7, 2006.
Appendix 1 (2.4MB)

This Appendix to the Spring 2006 Monitoring report contains maps and field data, including Site maps, a Groundwater Elevation Contour Map, Water Elevation Data, Abutting Landowner Well Testing Permission Status, and On and Off-site Well Monitoring Data.

Appendix 2 (1.1MB)

This Appendix contains a laboratory report for groundwater samples that were analyzed by Endyne Inc.

Appendix 3 (2.5MB)

This Appendix provides summaries of groundwater testing broken down by individual chemicals in off-site groundwater, surface water, and on-site bedrock groundwater supplies.

Appendix 4 (4MB)

This Appendix provides another laboratory report for groundwater samples that were analyzed by Endyne Inc.

09.14.06 Addendum to Spring 2006 Monitoring Report (1MB)

The results from the Flotation Reagent analysis provided in the Initial Spring 2006 Monitoring Report approved by the Vermont Department of Environmental Conservation on April 7, 2006 was invalidated. Subsequently two resampling events were performed via method AG-24. The findings are detailed in this report.

11.08.2006 Second Addendum to Spring 2006 Monitoring Report (76KB)

Due to contamination issues at the laboratory three re-sampling events for Flotation Reagent analysis via method AG-24 by Endyne Laboratories, Inc. were conducted. In addition, samples from the August 21st and September re-sampling events were submitted to Severn Trent Laboratories (STL) for supplementary analysis via LC/MS. The findings are detailed in this report.

Appendix 1 (2.7MB)

This Appendix to the Second Addendum contains maps and data, including a resampling locations map, lab report documents, and chain of custody records.

Appendix 2 (867KB)

This Appendix contains a laboratory report for groundwater samples that were analyzed by Endyne Inc.

Appendix 3a (307KB)

This Appendix contains the report for analytical results for groundwater samples received on September 8, 2006 and analyzed by STL Sacramento for supplementary analysis via LC/MS.

Appendix 3b (756KB)

This Appendix contains the report for analytical results for groundwater samples received on September 27, 2006 and analyzed by STL Sacramento for supplementary analysis via LC/MS.

Appendix 4 (30KB)

The Appendix contains the results of Endyne’s evaluation of a variety of chemical constituents’ effect on Method AG-24 results.

Appendix 5 (65KB)

This Appendix contains a letter dated October 27, 2006 from STL Sacramento to Omya explaining the standard operating procedure for the LC/MS method they developed to measure the amount of flotation reagent in water.
